The process lives in people’s heads
The work depends on memory, experience and whoever knows the workaround. When that person is away, the process slows or stops.
Maximum4 is a UK business process improvement consultancy with a clear destination. Same output in four days instead of five, and the time returned is yours: a four-day week at full pay, a shorter week, or added capacity.
The working week
Four days of work. One day returned.
We do not stop at a map or a recommendation. Through our MERA method (Map, Eliminate, Redesign, Automate) we help you change the operating model, we build the systems and AI agents, train the team and measure the gain.
They look like a busy team, a full calendar, another spreadsheet and a customer waiting for an answer. The first job is to make the work visible.
01
The work depends on memory, experience and whoever knows the workaround. When that person is away, the process slows or stops.
02
Meetings, reports and approvals keep moving, but nobody can say which steps add value or what the delay costs.
03
The tool is chosen before the work is understood. At best the mess runs faster, but costs more to undo.
Start here
It is not the finished product. The Map shows what is happening now and creates the baseline for elimination, redesign, implementation and measurement.
Start with the MapHow the work actually moves across people, systems, decisions and hand-offs.
Time, output, quality, errors and rework: the measures used to judge what changes.
Work that adds no value, including reports, meetings and approvals that do not change an outcome.
The steps, information flows and decisions that need redesign before any automation is built.
The routine load that systems and AI agents can take on once the process and data are ready.
A four-day week at full pay, or visible capacity for work that still needs people.
Map the work. Eliminate the waste. Redesign what matters. Automate the routine. Maximum4 stays for the build, the training and the measurement.
01
We work with the team to see the process as it runs and establish the baseline.
02
We stop the work that adds no value before spending money improving it.
03
We rebuild the remaining workflows, roles, decisions and information flows.
04
We build and connect the systems, data and AI agents that take on the routine load.
RETURNED
A four-day week at full pay, or measured capacity and output.
Maximum4 works across operations, systems and people, then stays through implementation, training and measurement. The work has to run, not just look convincing on a slide.
Map the process, remove friction and redesign how work moves.
Connect the data, build the interfaces and automate the routine load.
Train teams to work with AI while keeping responsibility and judgement with people.
The useful question is not whether AI could touch the process. It is whether changing the process would return enough time or capacity to matter.
A business where work happens on screen: repeatable tasks, recurring admin, or growth that has outpaced its operating model.
We do not leave behind a recommendations deck. We redesign, build, implement, train and measure with the team.
Maximum4 is not the right fit if the decision has already been made to automate a process without mapping or redesigning it.

Founder, Maximum4

I have never hidden that I am a little lazy.
Lazy about admin and repetitive tasks. So I have spent most of my career in operations and technology, making work run with less effort.
In 2008 I was running operations at our family publishing house in Athens while Greece was entering the worst crisis of its modern history. That's when we first rebuilt the whole operating model using the method I now call MERA: Map, Eliminate, Redesign, Automate. It also spells μέρα, the Greek for "day", which is what the method returns. Pre-press turnaround fell from months to days, editorial costs by 75%, logistics costs by 23%. And, most important, shorter hours with pay untouched. People pulled together because the benefits were shared.
Years later, in London, I was running operations for a digital production agency delivering work for clients including Shell, Novartis, JLR, Adidas, Red Bull and Huawei. The agency had plateaued - a full order book and a team on late nights and weekends just to keep up. We mapped the work, cut the waste and redesigned how projects moved through the studio. The capacity that freed came back in both time and growth: evenings and weekends went back to the people, and the agency, flat for years, scaled up.
Maximum4 does that for businesses like yours. We rebuild how the work runs, measure what changes, and give the gain back to the people who made it.

Questions before the Map
A business process improvement consultant studies how work actually moves, identifies waste and friction, redesigns the process, and measures whether the change improves time, output, quality, errors or rework. Maximum4 goes further than advice: we build the systems and automations, implement the new way of working and train the team.
The Map is the starting point for our MERA method: Map, Eliminate, Redesign, Automate. It records how the work runs now, where it waits or repeats, what it costs in hours, and which measures will form the baseline for judging the change.
No. The same method can return time as additional capacity or output. A four-day week remains the destination for firms ready to make that commitment, but it is not a condition for starting.
Automation makes a process repeat faster. If the process contains waste, unclear decisions or poor data, automation preserves those problems. Maximum4 removes and redesigns the work first.
The measures depend on the work, but the baseline can include time, output, quality, errors and rework. The same measures are used after the change so the gain is visible rather than assumed.
We start with how the process runs, then remove, redesign, build, automate, train and measure. The destination is a four-day week at full pay, or capacity for the work only people can do.
